At Beyond 2026, Pax8 turned the Managed Intelligence Provider concept from a thesis into a program. The company launched its Managed Intelligence solutions on June 8, 2026: a formal MIP Program, a set of Managed Intelligence Services (MIS), and an Agent Store in the Pax8 Marketplace. General availability is planned for July.

If you have been watching the MSP-to-MIP conversation from the sidelines, this is the moment it stopped being a keynote idea and became a channel program with products, services, and a partner path attached. Here is what Pax8 announced, why they built it, and — the part the program cannot do for you — how to actually run an AI-powered operation underneath it.

What Pax8 Announced

The announcement has three parts:

The MIP Program. A structured path for partners to build a Managed Intelligence capability — going beyond infrastructure support and ticket resolution to deploying and managing intelligent systems with AI agents that reason, adapt, and act in real time. That is Pax8’s definition of a MIP, and it sets a deliberately high bar: agents that act, not chatbots that answer.

Managed Intelligence Services (MIS). For partners who want outcomes before they have built in-house capability, Pax8 Professional Services will execute AI transformation work directly — a way to sell managed intelligence while your own muscle is still developing.

The Agent Store. The entry point to the program: SMB-ready AI solutions provisioned through the Pax8 Marketplace, launching with offerings like Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, ConnectWise Sidekick, and Rewst RoboRewsty.

Why Pax8 Built It: The AI ROI Gap

The numbers Pax8 cites explain the program’s existence. According to their announcement, 78% of SMBs using AI call it a game-changer — yet 95% of organizations report zero ROI from it. SMBs are buying AI enthusiasm and getting back nothing measurable.

That gap is the MIP opportunity. SMBs don’t need another AI subscription; they need someone to deploy, govern, integrate, and operate AI until it produces outcomes. That someone is structurally the MSP — the partner who already owns the client’s infrastructure, identity, and support relationship. We covered the underlying model in What Is a Managed Intelligence Provider?; the MIP Program is the channel machinery forming around it.

What the Program Gives You — and What It Can’t

The MIP Program solves the supply problem: a curated catalog of agents, provisioning through a marketplace you already use, professional services to lean on, and a partner designation to market with.

What it cannot supply is the operating capability that makes the designation true. A MIP, by Pax8’s own definition, manages intelligent systems that reason and act. Reselling Copilot licenses through the Agent Store doesn’t make you that — any more than reselling Office 365 made you a cloud architect. Two things have to be true inside your own business:

Your own service delivery has to run on AI agents. Clients buying “managed intelligence” will ask the obvious question: do you run on it yourselves? The MSPs answering yes have deployed agents across their own ticket lifecycle — triage and dispatch, resolution guidance, documentation, quality review. This is the Customer Zero approach: be your own first client, and turn your internal results into your sales evidence.

You need the capacity to take on intelligence work. AI deployments, governance setup, and agent management are new revenue lines that compete for the same technicians currently buried in reactive tickets. If your desk consumes all your senior capacity, the MIP opportunity arrives and finds nobody available to deliver it.

Where Mizo Fits

Mizo is the operational layer underneath the MIP designation: AI agents that run your own service desk on top of the PSA you already have — ConnectWise, Autotask, or HaloPSA — handling triage, dispatch, resolution guidance, documentation, and QA across the full ticket lifecycle.

That does two things for an MSP entering the MIP Program. It frees the technician capacity you will need to deliver managed intelligence engagements — Mizo’s MSP clients report an average 26% increase in technician capacity. And it makes your MIP story credible: when a client asks what managed intelligence looks like, you show them your own desk, your own metrics, your own agents acting in production.

What to Do Before General Availability

The Agent Store and MIP Program reach general availability in July. The MSPs who get the most from it will arrive with their own house in order:

  1. Deploy agents on your own desk now. A Customer Zero run takes about 30 days to produce before-and-after data. Start it before the program opens, and you walk in with proof instead of intentions.
  2. Get your data foundation ready. Agent quality tracks data quality — clean ticket categories, current documentation, consistent client records.
  3. Define your governance posture. Clients will ask what the agents are allowed to do and who approves what. Have the human-in-the-loop governance answer written down before the first sales call.
  4. Decide your packaging. Per-seat AI resale is a margin race. Outcome-priced managed intelligence — triage handled, tickets resolved, response times guaranteed — is where the model pays.

The MIP Program gives the channel a path. Whether your MSP is a Managed Intelligence Provider or just a reseller with a new badge depends on what runs inside your own operation.

FAQ

What is the Pax8 MIP Program?

The MIP Program is Pax8’s partner program, launched at Beyond 2026, that gives MSPs a structured path to become Managed Intelligence Providers — including the Agent Store (curated AI solutions in the Pax8 Marketplace) and Managed Intelligence Services delivered by Pax8 Professional Services. General availability is planned for July 2026.

What is the difference between an MSP and a MIP?

An MSP manages infrastructure and resolves tickets. A MIP additionally deploys and manages intelligent systems — AI agents that reason, adapt, and act in real time — both inside its own operation and for clients. See our full guide to the Managed Intelligence Provider model.

Do I need to be a Pax8 partner to become a MIP?

No. The MIP Program is Pax8’s channel path, but the underlying model — running AI agents across your service delivery and selling intelligence as an outcome — is available to any MSP. Mizo deploys that operational layer on ConnectWise, Autotask, or HaloPSA regardless of distribution relationships.

How does Mizo relate to the Agent Store?

The Agent Store curates client-facing AI solutions to resell and deploy. Mizo is the agent layer for your own service delivery — triage, dispatch, resolution, documentation, and QA on your PSA — which frees the capacity to deliver intelligence engagements and gives you a first-party proof point.
